The pearl like shiny and transparent white tapioca balls represent the spiritual heritage of Hanlin Pearl Milk Tea. In 1987, the founder Mr. Tu Tsung-Ho first saw the tapioca balls vender at the traditional Yamuliao market and inspired him to blend it with the milk tea to enhance the taste. Just one sudden thought that brought the birth of the first Pearl Milk Tea that struck the tea market. When most tea houses use only black tapioca bubbles now, Hanlin has never forgotten our original intention to buy the white tapioca bubbles from the old vender at Tainan to keep the original taste of the pearl milk tea just like taking care of the old customers.

At Hanlin the milk tea can be iced, yet it is more suitable for hot drink. The founder Mr. Tu has developed and researched for various changes, the original Panda Pearl Milk Tea has silk like taste of tea and milk to mix with the black and white tapioca bubbles to make it a famous tea drink around the whole island for more than thirty years. Panda Milk Tea has used fresh milk to give it a tight, clear and good smell taste and the flavor is charming twice as much.

The original classic formula was found in 1986. The base is the lingering and intensive black tea added with the cream or fresh milk to shake with hands, only one sip you can feel the smell of the black tea is released gradually, and then bring out intensive and rich taste, leaving a rich aftertaste.

The pure white transparent tapioca bubbles are made by traditional method, the granular is small to allow it dancing at the tongue tip, and the clear and chewing taste will make it much tasteful after chewing. It has applied the old tea noodles technique of the Japanese and Hanlin has been doing the research and improvement for more than ten years to put out the perfect blend of the tea fragrance & noodles and finally is able to present the masterpiece which the tea is within the noodles.

In order to find out the best tea species for tea noodles, Master Tu has gone the process of trial and error and found the answer from Taiwan high mountain Iron Goddess (TGY). To roast heavily the Iron Goddess (TGY) over and over for 18 hours under high heat, like charcoal roast coffee beans, the fragrance is lingered with the charming caramel flavor. The taste is unchanged even it was blended into noodles and has been stir fried. The making of noodles are inspired by the making of Japanese Ramen, which the noodle gluten came from repeated pressing and rolling that it will not turn soft and mush after immersing in the soup and give chewy taste in the mouth, the more you chew, the more the smell of fragrance.

The awakening original flavor tea noodles do not need any seasoning to cover. It only needs the Taiwanese style pig bone soup with deep fried red onions to bring out the fresh and sweet taste to go with scallop XO sauce fried with top grade forty-year Brandy to have the thick and fragrant flavor with the lingering tea smell.
